Christmas Boxes in Petersham

Wir haben vor ein paar Wochen in Petersham Geld für Weihnachtsgeschenke für Menschen in Not in der Nachbarschaft gesammelt. Hier ist das Dankschreiben des organisierenden Pfarrers von St Richard, Simon Coupland:

Thank you so much!

Thanks to the generosity of many churches and individuals in Ham and Petersham, and to a grant from RHP's Ham Close Social Value Fund, this year we were able to put together a record number of 92 boxes full of Christmas joy on 7th December, more than ever before!  Each box contained Christmas treats as well as store cupboard essentials and a £25 Sainsbury's voucher.  The boxes have already started going out to the families who have been identified by our four local schools - St Richard's, Meadlands, The Russell and Grey Court - as especially deserving of a treat this Christmas.  So THANK YOU to everyone who contributed - your donation made a real difference.

Thank you too to the fantastic group of volunteers, especially a large number of scouts, who gave up their Saturday morning to pack the boxes in St Richard's.  Special thanks, too, to Abi and Dave Sayers who organised the purchase and delivery of all the food: it's not like your regular weekly shop, getting 92 of each item!  We're also grateful to Aldi for their help with this.

We know that the need this year is as great if not greater than ever, so it's wonderful that these boxes can bring some practical help and festive cheer.  We plan to do the same thing again next year, so that with your support we can again bless local families in 2025!
